There’s no denying the fact that Vanna White has countless fans thanks to her many years as a “Wheel of Fortune” icon. At the same time, life in the spotlight isn’t always easy. Indeed, the famous figure has recently faced some unkind folks on the internet. Granted, this prompted plenty of support from those who adore and admire her.
One Fan Called Vanna a ‘Class Act’
Vanna White is known for being a stylish and statuesque figure. Frankly, “[s]he’s been a fixture on American television for more than four decades, dazzling on [‘Wheel of Fortune’] in glamorous gowns,” according to the Daily Mail.
However, White recently appeared at and participated in a sporty event and, naturally, opted to wear something that suited the occasion. This meant that “some viewers were shocked to see Vanna White, 69, cutting a far more casual figure as she attended the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic golf event in South Carolina last week.”
“White, who married real estate developer John Donaldson in January, cut a sporty figure in a golf shirt and green pants, tucking her trademark blonde hair into a tight ponytail as she traversed the fairway.”
After White spoke to the crowd in attendance at the event, the moment was shared on Instagram. The Daily Mail notes that it was at that point that “cruel trolls chose to attack her appearance.”
In response, White’s fan stepped in. One person left a comment, saying, “I think she looks great. … Naturally aging, loving her life.”
Another person stated that White is “aging so gracefully and beautifully.”
Someone else fan called White a “class act” as another fan deemed her to be “gracious.”
Vanna Thinks ‘Wrinkles are Beautiful’
Getty“Despite spending 41 years in front of TV cameras on Wheel of Fortune, Vanna White still wants people to see the real her,” People noted in October 2023. That includes the fact that she doesn’t want to hide the fact that she’s aging.
“I think wrinkles are beautiful,” White, who was 66 at the time, told People. “Someone who is completely with no lines, they don’t have any character. Be natural, be yourself and have personality.”
“I don’t look like this without all this makeup,” she also said while smiling. “But you know what? I am older and I accept my lines and wrinkles. Will I ever have plastic surgery? Maybe. But I’m kind of scared to do that. I’m not trying to look 30 years old again because I’m not.”
GettyShe also talked to Women’s Health in September 2025, about staying healthy as she ages, which brings us back to the topic of golf, which happens to be one of her favorite hobbies. Women’s Health explains that “[s]he learned the sport as a kid growing up in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and after a long hiatus, took it back up about six years ago.”
âI fell in love with it again,â White said. Additionally, talking about the fact that it’s a pasttime that she shares with her now-husband, she told Women’s Health, âThat’s one thing that we do together all the time.â
