Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein have addressed the rumours that they are dating in no uncertain terms.
The actors, who coincidentally star in Netflix’s upcoming rom-com, Office Romance, have been plagued with speculation that their relationship has transitioned from strictly professional to romantic.
However, in a joint interview with Savannah Guthrie on The Today Show, both JLo and Brett confirmed they’re not together.
In fact, Jennifer went one step further — likely to squash any future dating rumours — and revealed to the host that she’s ‘not dating’ at all.
Jennifer joked: ‘There’s never a time when I’m seen with somebody or working with somebody where they don’t try to put me with the person.’

Savannah interjected, admitting that JLo’s observation was ‘true.’
Brett then weighed in on the discussion, teasing that ‘if you stand near her, that’s what happens.’
Savannah jumped back in and joked to Brett that ‘that’s what you wish would happen.’
The Ted Lasso star — who rarely shares insights into his off-screen love life, although it’s reported that he’s single — played on the comment. He said in a light-hearted manner: ‘Yeah, that’s why I’ve been standing so close this whole time.’
Savannah then got a little more serious, trying to prise a ‘real’ answer out of JLo, who officially finalised her divorce and became legally single from Ben Affleck in January 2025.
The host pressed: ‘Okay, but I’ll just say, because I’m me and you know me. That was not an answer.’
Jennifer then swiftly came back with: ‘That was not an answer? It was an answer. Because all these people that they put me [with], I think I was with Kevin Costner this year. I was with…there was a lot of people. It happens all the time. Doesn’t make it true.’
The conversation finally became more frank, with JLo stating they were ‘not dating,’ to which Brett replied: ‘Correct.’
Jennifer and ex-husband Ben Affleck officially separated in April 2024. The duo, who were affectionately nicknamed ‘Bennifer,’ finally made it down the aisle after 20 years in July 2022, having rekindled their romance in May 2021.
The couple first got together in 2002 after meeting on the set of Gigli, and they got engaged shortly after.
But they delayed their wedding in 2003 and broke up in 2004. JLo attributed the breakup to Ben’s discomfort with the media’s scrutiny of their relationship.
As for Brett, we know that he’s very tight-lipped about his personal life. His only confirmed, public relationship was with British comedian Beth Rylance. However, the couple only dated for a short while, from 2021 to 2022.
It’s not hard to see why some fans have put a Jennifer and Brett ‘romance’ on their 2026 bingo cards (in jest, of course). Especially when you look at their chemistry in Office Romance.
In the film, JLo plays Jackie, President and CEO of Air Cruz, a high-flying career woman who has a strict anti-fraternisation policy for all her employees.
In true rom-com style, an unexpected love interest soon enters the room, which compromises Jackie’s policy. In this case, it’s in the form of Brett’s character, a ‘sexy new lawyer who begins working for her.’
Office Romance drops on Netflix on Friday, June 5.
