When will GTA 6 Trailer 3 come out? Latest predictions and theories

As fan speculation goes into overdrive, we run down the possibilities for when we could see the next trailer for GTA 6.

Ever since GTA 6 was announced in 2022, fans have been analysing every single thing Rockstar say and do to try and figure out when the studio will release the next slice of news.

This has led to some unhinged theories based on GTA Online promos and moon cycles, and while a significant chunk have been inaccurate, there is some evidence of Rockstar hiding teasers in past announcements. 

Following the opening of pre-orders last month, the next big question now is when we’ll see the third trailer for GTA 6, ahead of its launch in November.

Is GTA 6 definitely getting another trailer? 

In truth, we have no idea. The standard laws of game marketing dictate another trailer to drive up anticipation ahead of launch is inevitable, but in the case of GTA 6 – arguably the most anticipated piece of entertainment in human history – you could argue it doesn’t need any marketing at all to be a juggernaut success.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick, however, has discussed marketing plans for the sequel throughout this year, which presumably will involve a new trailer of some fashion. 

What trailers and announcements have been made so far? 

You can check out a breakdown of all the major announcements around GTA 6 below, including its final launch date. The game was originally slated for autumn 2025, before being pushed back to May 26, 2026, and again to November 19 of the same year. 

When will Trailer 3 be released? 

Some fans believe the next trailer could arrive in early August, based on the fact that publisher Take-Two has an earnings call on Friday, August 7. 

While it’s possible, these earnings calls have rarely ever lined up with notable GTA 6 announcements. The recent cover art and pre-order reveals, for example, came a few weeks after the last Take-Two earnings call on May 21, 2026. 

If earnings calls aren’t a reliable barometer for trailers, then what is? The only real clue is to look at how the marketing worked for GTA 5. That game had five trailers in the run-up to its launch on September 17, 2013, including a five-minute gameplay video. 

While the number of trailers for GTA 5 will not necessarily match GTA 6, the timing before launch might give an indicator of Rockstar’s plans. The aforementioned gameplay video was released on July 9, 2013, roughly two months before launch. This was followed by a one-minute cinematic trailer on August 29, three weeks before launch. 

Based on this logic, a gameplay video for GTA 6 – which is what we’d expect to arrive next, considering we’ve seen no raw gameplay yet – could arrive sometime in September, two months before its launch on November 19.

This isn’t exactly a reliable science though, so realistically another trailer could drop anytime between now and November 19, 2026.

However, late September is an already infamously busy period for new game releases this year and it would be very much in keeping with Rockstar’s anarchic attitude, and disdain for industry norms, to want to be the biggest news of that period, despite everything else going on.

Do we know when the next GTA Online will come out? 

Rockstar hasn’t announced anything regarding the online component for GTA 6, although it described the latter as a ‘single-player experience’, so it’s assumed this will be released at a later date. 

GTA Online was released two weeks after the launch of GTA 5, and while it’s unclear if Rockstar will follow the same rollout it’s unlikely to be more than a few months after launch – although that could push it into early 2027.

Where can I pre-order GTA 6? 

GTA 6 is available to pre-order now across the PlayStation and Xbox stores. The standard edition costs £69.99 and the Ultimate Edition costs £89.99. 

Alternatively, you can buy a boxed copy (albeit without a disc) of the standard version from the likes of Argos and Amazon, at the slightly cheaper price of £67.99.
