Manchester City are considering a move for Chelsea winger Pedro Neto and are now facing the prospect of losing Rodri to Real Madrid.
Enzo Maresca has already seen his squad bolstered with the signing of Elliot Anderson in a £116 million deal from Nottingham Forest.
But City are are in the market to sign a new winger as they remain in talks over a deal to sell Savinho to Tottenham Hotspur.
According to the Daily Mail, Neto is on City’s shortlist and Maresca still has a ‘good rapport’ with the Portugal international due to their time together at Chelsea.

The report adds that City remain interested in signing Malo Gusto but have been put off by Chelsea’s £75m asking price.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid are now working on a deal to sign Rodri from City.
Madrid had considered a move for Rodri earlier this summer but have been convinced by his performances for Spain in their World Cup-winning campaign and are stepping up their efforts.
According to talkSPORT, Rodri has informed City that he wants to join Madrid ‘for football and family reasons’.
The 30-year-old is set to miss the start of the new Premier League season as he will undergo back surgery on Monday.
‘Now, surgery on Monday. Then he needs a holiday, he needs to rest and recover and then he will be back with us,’ Maresa said at his first press conference with City on Friday.
‘Around big players there are always speculations so I am not worried about that. I think it is normal, also because they [Spain] won the World Cup and because he is one of the best players. I think every manager wants to have Rodri because he is a top player.’
Speaking in March, Rodri, who has just one year left on his contract with City, admitted that he would find it difficult to turn down a move to Madrid.
Asked if he would like to return to La Liga, Rodri told Spanish radio station Onda Cero: ‘I’d like to return, yes, obviously.
‘For me, La Liga is where I started. I still follow it, it’s true not as much as before, but I still follow it.’
Asked if he would reject a move to Madrid because he has already played for Atletico, Rodri replied: ‘No, I mean, there have been many players who have gone down that path, right? And especially not directly, but over time.
‘I mean, for me, you can’t turn down the best clubs in the world.
‘They have a fanbase that really goes all out for them, and for me, the Bernabeu is always incredible, a stadium that’s very imposing.’
