GTA 6 news coming very soon says insider as fans question summer marketing plans

The promised summer marketing for GTA 6 seems to be non-existent so far, but there are signs it’s all going to kick off in August.

Back in February, Take-Two Interactive said that marketing for GTA 6 would begin in the summer which, aside from showing how confident the publisher was about not suffering another delay, naturally had people assuming that’s when a new trailer would drop.

Summer is now two thirds of the way over and although GTA 6 pre-orders went live in June, confirming the game’s cover art, price tag, special edition contents, and its status as a digital-only release, there’s still no sign of the fabled third trailer or any examples of raw gameplay footage.

You’ll find no shortage of fans trying to make sense of the silence or placing predictions on when the next trailer will drop, but one reliable insider has attempted to assure everyone that there’s nothing to worry about and news will be shared in August.

This is according to NateTheHate, who has been consistently accurate with his insider knowledge, having previously leaked the existences of Nintendo’s Star Fox and The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time remakes.

When pressed about GTA 6 on X, NateTheHate denied the possibility of another delay, saying ‘I expect to see a fair bit of GTA 6 [in August]’ and ‘[Rockstar and Take-Two] have a marketing plan and they are sticking to that plan. No reason for concern.’

All this is to say that Rockstar and Take-Two’s continued silence on GTA 6 isn’t some indicator of behind-the-scenes troubles, which is a fair assumption since they clearly don’t need to be aggressive in advertising the game.

Even so, it’s frustrating that here are no proper demonstrations of how GTA 6 looks when someone’s playing it; just two heavily edited trailers meant to make it look cinematic. There’s also been no word at all on how online play will work.

While claims of GTA 6 making $1 billion in just 24 hours have been disputed, one report has predicted that the game could generate upwards of $5.2 billion in its launch week, roughly a third of what GTA 5 has made in its entire lifecycle.

GTA 6 fans going stir crazy over a lack of updates is nothing new. Although, the latest theory is that there’ll be new info in the very near future because the game’s official website has been slightly updated.

According to videotech on X, the website saw three minor updates to its backend after not being touched for over a month. While videotech acknowledges this could be simple maintenance, they add that ‘The day before news dropped for the cover art, they were updating the site and adding miscellaneous changes.’

It doesn’t help that Take-Two has its next earnings call with investors on August 7, which fans think could be preceded by or accompanied by a new trailer… even though they’ve said that about every Take-Two earnings call.

In related news, it’s been claimed that GTA Online has locked Australian players out of its gambling minigames via the Diamond Casino, where you can place bets using chips you purchase with in-game currency.

Rockstar has not issued a formal statement on the matter, but if this is the case, it’s more than likely due to Australia’s new online safety laws, which in turn reportedly mean residents need to supply a valid driver’s license if they want to play GTA 6.

The UK implemented similar age verification laws earlier this year, but it remains to seen if this will have any tangible effect on GTA 6’s launch on November 19.
