A Naperville woman was sentenced to 38 years in prison this week for fatally shooting her husband during an argument in 2020, according to the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s office.
Rosa Lagrone, 40, was found guilty of first-degree murder in February, according to the office.
On the afternoon of Nov. 6, 2020, Lagrone and her fiancé, Darnell Manns, were arguing about him allegedly seeing another woman. During the argument in her home, in the first block of 25W Keswick Lane, she shot him in the arm, prosecutors said.
Lagrone then used Manns’ Facebook page to video chat the woman he was allegedly seeing as he lay on the ground bleeding, prosecutors said. He was taken to a nearby hospital and died of his injuries three days later.
“No number of years will bring Darnell back to those who loved him and those he loved,” said DuPage County State’s Attorney Bob Berlin in a statement. “Their grief will far outlast Ms. Lagrone’s sentence, and I wish them strength as they navigate their lives without the love, comfort and support once provided by Darnell.”
