Jeremy Clarkson reveals reason Kaleb Cooper ‘isn’t talking to him’

Jeremy Clarkson is once more on the outs with his right-hand man, Kaleb Cooper.

The bumbling duo have been butting heads since the first season of Clarkson’s Farm, with their spats becoming an integral part of the show. In fact, the Top Gear star often goes out of his way to provoke the 28-year-old farm manager.

It seems, however, his ‘hare-brained schemes’ have gone too far this time, and the 66-year-old media personality is on thin ice with Kaleb, who has decided to give him the silent treatment.

Explaining what he’s been up to on Diddly Squat farm ahead of a new season, he made clear he’s up to his usual outlandish antics in a bid to actually turn a profit.

First, after discovering that no one in the UK was farming rabbits, he didn’t stop to think there may be a reason why and instead dove headfirst into breeding them.

Only to find out that they are ‘vicious’ creatures out for blood.

‘Every time I emerge from the daily rabbit attack, I’m bleeding so profusely I look like that fountain in Geneva,’ he quipped in The Sunday Times.

Next, he decided he wanted to try his hand at planting flax to produce linen. What could possibly go wrong?

Turns out, after consulting an expert, he realised ‘there is no equipment anywhere near the Cotswolds that could do it, so it would have to be [harvested] by hand.’

Aka, it would need a team of 40 people working a 50-hour week for a year to turn it all around.

The sum of his failures has come at a high cost, as he revealed.

‘Kaleb, meanwhile, is not talking to me. He says I’ve got to stop coming up with harebrained schemes without thinking them through.

‘And points out that as there’s no way in hell we will be able to collect everything we grew, the vast majority will just sit there’.

We have no doubt they’ll bounce back and be on talking terms again, however. Beyond the screen, the pair have a tight-knit friendship in real life.

When Kaleb got married to his wife last month, Jeremy was in attendance with his girlfriend and Clarkson’s Farm regular, Lisa Hogan, and he even supplied unlimited alcohol for the occasion, with his brand Hawkstone.

Meanwhile, when not putting out fires on the farm, Jeremy is trying to get a handle on his pub, The Farmer’s Dog. Earlier this month, it was visited by Peta protestors who were protesting meat consumption using a disturbingly realistic-looking dog.

Speaking about it in his Sun column later, Jeremy brushed the incident off with his usual disdain and even quipped that his security threw them out.
