Scott McTominay’s heart surgery has been labelled a ‘complete success’ and will be back in training before the end of the month, confirm Napoli.
The Scotland international was back in Manchester for the operation on Tuesday morning.
The surgery was to carry out a minor ablation procedure, which corrects an irregular heart rhythm.
The issue was discovered after the 29-year-old was taken off just under an hour into Napoli’s 2-1 loss to Como on August 30.

Last week the club confirmed: ‘Following the onset of a mild benign arrhythmia, Scott McTominay will undergo corrective surgery using a cardiac arrhythmia ablation in the coming days.’
After the operation took place, Napoli stated: ‘On Tuesday morning, Scott McTominay underwent an ablation procedure at Spire Manchester Hospital. The operation was a complete success.
‘McTominay will rest for two weeks and then resume training.’

The former Manchester United midfielder will be disappointed to miss the Champions League clash with Arsenal on Wednesday evening.
He will also sit out Serie A meetings with Bologna and Fiorentina, but will expect to be back in the Napoli side for the visit of Frosinone on October 10.
Napoli then have Champions League fixtures to come against Villarreal, Bodo/Glimt, Porto, Manchester City and Club Brugge.
McTominay started Napoli’s first two Serie A games of the season as they beat Genoa 2-0 and then lost to Como.

The Scotland star’s contract at Napoli runs until 2028 and there remains doubt over whether he will sign a new deal with the Serie A club.
He said himself last week, via Gazzetta dello Sport: ‘Will I stay at Napoli? I don’t know, we haven’t discussed it.
‘In football, contracts come and go, but that’s not the most important thing right now; the pitch is what matters. I still don’t know if I’ll renew.’
However, sporting director Giovanni Manna suggested they had discussed it, saying: ‘We are discussing a renewal. We’ve met.
‘Scott is an important player, he has two years left on his contract. We want to try and make it happen, he wants to make it happen, but things need to align. It’s not always simple, but we are trying.’
