Channel 4 worker found dead in sea 110 miles from home

Television librarian Lolita Visa, 32, was pulled from the water after travelling to the Welsh seaside resort more than 110 miles from her home. An inquest was told she travelled from Halifax, West Yorks, to visit her father in Manchester in the days before her mystery death. She then headed to Liverpool and then to Llandudno, North Wales. But her family last heard from her on August 22 and North Wales Police were informed three days later. Coroner John Gittins said that the following day a member of the public called HM Coastguard to report seeing a body in the water off the coast of the resort town. Mr Gittins said: "The deceased was brought aboard the lifeboat and transported to lifeboat station." The hearing was told a post mortem examination found injuries "consistent with time submerged in water". Her inquest was adjourned to a date to be fixed. Lolita's LinkedIn described herself as a Digital Media Librarian for Channel 4 having previously worked for streaming company Dazn. Her family has since launched a fundraiser to help cover the costs of her funeral. Writing on the page, relative Wiktoria Januszewska said: "Her loss has left all of us heartbroken, and we are faced with the difficult task of arranging her funeral. "We are asking to help raise funds to be able to give her the send off she deserves, and help to cover any expenses that come with covering getting her to Latvia, as that where she is from and we want her to be at home. "We were never prepared, or expected, for this to take place, and we are not in a financial place to be able to cover everything by ourselves. "If you knew Lolita, we hope you remember her for the person that she was and keep her memories close to you. She was bubbly and a joy to be around, she had stories for days to share about her travels and where she has been. "Any donations will help, and if you???re unable to donate, simply sharing her story so it reaches more people will help us. On behalf of the family, we thank you." WALES NEWS SERVICE

A Channel 4 worker was found dead in the sea more than 100 miles from her home, an inquest has heard.

Television librarian Lolita Visa, 32, was pulled from the water off Llandudno, North Wales, on August 26.

The inquest heard she had travelled from her home in Halifax, West Yorkshire, to visit her father in Manchester in the days before her death.

She then travelled to Liverpool, where she sent a photo to her dad, before sending him another image from Llandudno on August 22.

When her family became concerned, they reported her missing to West Yorkshire Police.

The following day, a member of the public called HM Coastguard after reportedly seeing a body in the water off the resort town.

Visa’s inquest was adjourned to a date to be fixed.

She worked as a Digital Media Librarian for Channel 4, having previously worked for streaming company Dazn, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Her family has since launched a fundraiser to help cover the costs of her funeral and bring her body back to Latvia, where she was from.

Writing on the fundraising page, relative Wiktoria Januszewska said Visa’s death had left the family ‘heartbroken’.

The family said donations would help with funeral expenses and the cost of bringing Visa back to Latvia.

‘Any donations will help, and if you’re unable to donate, simply sharing her story so it reaches more people will help us,’ Wiktoria said.
