No one was hurt but several people were displaced after an extra alarm blaze tore through a West Town apartment building early Wednesday.
Fire officials responded to the fire around 2:40 a.m. in the 1400 block of West Grand Avenue and it elevated to a two-alarm fire roughly 20 minutes later, according to the Chicago Fire Department. The fire was eventually extinguished just after 4:30 a.m.
No injuries were reported but the Red Cross was called to assist with displacements, though fire officials don’t know exactly how many residents were impacted.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
