A 47-year-old man was hospitalized for critical injuries early Saturday after he was shot in the Douglas neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Officers responded to a call of a person shot at about 3:29 a.m. along the 3600 block of South King Drive, where they found the man on the ground with a gunshot wound to the groin, police said.
Chicago Fire Department medics treated the man at the scene and took him to the University of Chicago Medical Center, according to police. He was listed in critical condition.
Area 1 detectives are investigating the incident.
