Charges are pending for a person who stabbed a woman in the chest with a sharp object, killing her during an argument Thursday night in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side.
The woman, 48, was arguing with a person she knew around 10:10 p.m. in the 3400 block of West 59th Place when he pulled out a sharp object and stabbed her, Chicago police said.
She was stabbed in the chest and was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where was pronounced dead, police said. Her name has not been released.
The male fled the scene and was found by officers in the 3400 block of West 59th Place. Officers found the weapon and placed him in custody.
Charges were pending.
