Someone jumped behind the wheel of a forklift in the Loop’s Daley Plaza in the predawn hours but didn’t get very far, Chicago police said.
The thief took the vehicle about 3:50 a.m. Friday in the first block of West Washington Boulevard after entering a secure location and damaging a window, police said.
The forklift was found a short time later in the first block of West Madison Street, and no injuries were reported.
No one was arrested and Area 3 detectives are investigating.
