Fans snap up Olivia Rodrigo cookies in Palm Desert before singer’s tour-opening show
The tour supporting Rodrigo’s Grammy-nominated sophomore record, “GUTS,” began at the Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert earlier this year. Though the 21-year-old Murrieta singer-songwriter was nominated for six Grammy awards, she ultimately walked away empty-handed at the star-studded ceremony in Los Angeles in February. Despite being shut-out, she still gave audiences at the ceremony a performance of the album’s lead single, “Vampire,” which had the pop genre’s biggest artists such as Taylor Swift, dancing and singing along.
Back in April, she made a surprise appearance at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, where she joined No Doubt on stage to perform “Bathwater,” from their 2000 album, “Return of Saturn.” Rodrigo, a vocal fan of the group sported an “I heart No Doubt” tee, similar to the ones she’s worn on tour.
