OAKLAND — It was a very lucky stop for someone at a Quik Stop convenience store in East Oakland on Friday where they purchased a Fantasy 5 lottery game ticket worth $119,520, officials said.
The still-unknown player was one of five throughout the state to pick all five game numbers, which were 2, 26, 31, 33 and 36, and split the total jackpot of $597,600. The jackpot was that high because no one had won it in previous drawings.
The ticket was purchased at the Quik Stop, a convenience store and gas station at 3132 Beaumont Avenue across the street from the Highland Hospital complex.
The other four tickets were purchased in Lathrop, Los Angeles, Hawthorne and Riverside.
Reached by phone, the store owner, who did not want his name used, said he had not been aware the ticket had been sold there. He said it was the first time in 27 years he has owned the business that anyone has won a jackpot so large.

He said he knows of several people who regularly play lotto at the store but does not know if any of them were the winner. But for whoever it was he said, “I’m very happy for them.”
The winners have 180 days from the day of the draw to claim their prize money.
Fantasy 5 is played every weeknight.
The minimum prize for Saturday’s draw will be at least $78,000.
