On the heels of an independent survey to gauge resident satisfaction with city services, Milpitas has launched a community-wide effort called “Join the Conversation” to give all community members an opportunity to share their feedback and priorities. This effort comes with its own survey, intended to get community input on what city officials called “plans for major community-wide initiatives for the coming year.”
To take the 3-minute survey, visit https://www.milpitas.gov/JoinTheConversation.
Community members can also take a survey created by the Milpitas Planning Department to provide input about topics that will be addressed through new or modified zoning regulations in the city. The survey is intended for Milpitas residents, employees and business owners–“those whose homes, places of work and daily lives are influenced by the zoning regulations.”
The survey is part of an effort to comprehensively update the city’s zoning ordinance, the primary implementation tool for the General Plan with regard to land use and urban development. The zoning ordinance addresses topics such as land uses, administration and procedures for new development as well as alterations to existing buildings and lots, development standards such as building height and lot coverage, and parking and landscaping.
The online survey will be available through July 12 at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/5DH67HT. The survey takes approximately 5-10 minutes to complete and may be filled out anonymously.
