Registration is open for the San Jose Rock ’n’ Roll Half Marathon, set for Oct. 5-6. Live-bands, DJs, cheer squads and fans line the streets of downtown San Jose from start to finish during the run. Register at https://www.runrocknroll.com/san-jose.

WILLOW GLEN>>Lincoln Avenue businesses want participants in the Willow Glen Mrs. Roper Romp to come and knock on their door during the July 13 event, when participating merchants will be offering special promotions, giveaways, a complimentary photo booth and even Roper Sangria from 1-5 p.m.
The romp will be followed by “Three’s Company” trivia at 5:30 p.m. at the Wheelhouse of Willow Glen, hosted by Risky Quizness.
Romp participants are encouraged to dress the part and don their best caftans and curly wigs in honor of Jack, Chrissy and Janet’s nosey landlady from the classic TV comedy. For more information about the free event, visit the “Mrs. Roper Romp Downtown Willow Glen” Facebook page.
ROSE GARDEN>>Playful People Productions is offering a behind-the-scenes experience for 12- to 15-year-olds to learn the basics of set design and construction, and lighting and sound design at the company’s Summer Tech Camps. Campers will also have the opportunity to run the lighting or sound board during a live performance.
“Scenic Design and Painting” Monday-Friday, July 8-19, 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. “Intro to Theater Tech” runs Monday-Friday, July 15-28, 1:30-4:30 p.m., with performance work opportunities on July 19-20 and/or July 26-28.
