Pop star Kavana has revealed he has a lifetime ban from Loose Women.

The I Can Make You Heel Good hitmaker, now 47, has reflected on a disastrous appearance on the ITV daytime show where he had to be ‘escorted off the premises’ after getting drunk before the interview on live television.

The 90s singer has opened up about the awkward moment from 2007 in his candid new memoir Pop Scars.

‘I can’t remember much of my “performance” on Loose Women apart from the odd flashback, which every time one comes I slug a mouthful of beer at the harrowing thought,’ he wrote.

‘When someone, especially your new TV and theatre agent, leaves you a voicemail at 10am saying it’s urgent, it’s usually not the best news, is it?’

At the time, his agent told him: ‘I’m afraid they’re not happy with you. They have given you a lifetime ban on Loose Women. You can never go on again.’

Kavana recalled being told how the first problem was he ‘scarpered’ and ‘went missing for 15 minutes’ before the appearance.

His agent said: ‘You had a whole studio of workers running around after you, and were found in the pub opposite with minutes to go.

‘You asked Carol McGiffin live on air when was the last time she had sex, and you were described as being loud and unhinged backstage, asking for wine and demanding everyone join you in the pub after the show.

‘You then had to be escorted off the premises and helped into the car by the driver, who by the way nearly didn’t agree to take you, due to you being so drunk.

‘You then insisted he reroute the booking and take you all the way to Soho and drop you there.’

During the interview at the time, Kavana admitted he’ll try to enjoy himself in a way he didn’t during his early fame in the 90s.

Then-Loose Women panelist Carol asked if he wished he was ‘making it’ in 2007 for the first time, rather than a decade earlier when he was making his mistakes in the spotlight.

‘Yeah, I think that but this is the real life, so I’m here doing this now,’ he said as the presenter wondered if he’d ‘peaked too early’.

He said: ‘I hope not. What do you think? I mean, you’ve got had sex for a long time!’

There was laughter in the audience, as Carol looked embarrassed and joked ‘even the guests are bringing it up’, while someone else on the panel was heard asking if Kavana was ‘offering’ to help.

Ignoring the joked, he focused on her love life and said: ‘I mean why is that? She’s beautiful!’

He added: ‘Are you afraid of intimacy or what?’

There was lots of giggles on the panel and the studio as Carol held her head in her hands and laughed, before the pair shared a hug as they went to an ad break.
