Hinesâ Remembers Her Former Boss
âThe loss of Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner is devastating. I met them 31 years ago when I began working for them as an assistant and instantly loved their generosity, humor, and unwavering inspiration,â she wrote.
She continued, “Their legacy lives on in the countless lives they touched and the countless ways they made the world brighter. This is the snapshot that stays with me.”
Rob Reiner, celebrated for directing classics such as âWhen Harry Met Sallyâ¦,â âThe Princess Bride,â âStand by Me,â and âA Few Good Men,â has long been admired not only for his work but also for his mentorship of young talent.
Michele Reiner, a respected photographer and advocate in her own right, was also remembered by Hines as generous with her time and encouragement.
The tribute comes amid an outpouring of remembrances from across Hollywood, as actors, directors, and longtime collaborators reflect on Reinerâs legacy and the personal relationships he built over decades in the industry.
Many have emphasized his role as a mentor who opened doors and offered guidance to those just starting out.
Actor Jerry OâConnell credited Reiner with giving him his career as he was in the beloved film âStand By Me.â
Hinesâ reflection stands out for its intimacy, highlighting a behind-the-scenes chapter that fans rarely see.
Since those early days, Hines has built a successful career spanning television, film, and comedy, earning praise for both her performances and her work off-camera.
Her tribute underscores how early opportunities and supportive mentors can leave a lasting imprint, even years later.
