Oscar-winning actress Hilary Swank reflected on growing up in a trailer park during a boat day with her children in her hometown.

The “Million Dollar Baby” star, 51, shared her thoughts in a touching social media post on Sunday, November 2.

Hilary Swank Reflects on Her Childhood

Swank shared a photo of herself enjoying a boat day on a lake. She wore a wetsuit while posing on a boat, reflecting on her life growing up in the caption.

“I grew up on this lake and life looked a lot different,” Swank wrote. “I try to take moments of pause to look back and see how far I’ve come, and allow myself to feel proud, on top of the enormous mountain of gratitude.”

She continued, “I used to ride my bike down the same road I walk my dogs and toddlers down now. My children’s childhoods obviously look a lot different than mine did, but I try to inspire that same wonder and dreaming I had as a little girl, biking through a neighborhood much different than the trailer park I lived in.”

While Swank did not specify which lake she was spending time at with her family, the actress was reportedly born in Lincoln, Nebraska.

According to a biography by the Academy of Achievement, Swank and her family relocated to Bellingham, Washington, when she was just six years old.

“So often we are so focused on the road ahead we forget to take pit stops to look back and see how far we’ve traveled, and in reality there is no moment of arrival ever, simply a life of travel,” she continued in her Sunday caption. “Sending gratitude and love to my community today who have chosen to travel through this life with me, I hope you can take a moment to be proud of yourself and how far you’ve come too.”

Hilary Swank Received Support From Friends and Fans

The comments section of her post was flooded with kind words from fans and fellow celebrities.

“You’re so right. Don’t forget all the things you have been through and survived!” comedian Chelsea Handler wrote.

“I love it here too! Such a magical part of the world! Your kiddos are blessed!” one follower said, while others noted their love of the Pacific Northwest.

“Oh, that running away from ourselves and it just turned out to be a circle but at least you got nice calves and a few life experiences from it,” another fan chimed in.

“There’s nothing more rewarding than a full-circle moment to remind us – with gratitude – of how much we SPARKLE!” a fourth wrote.
