Adam Peaty is said to have been escorted from a plane by armed police after receiving sinister threats on his stag do in Hungary, amid a public family rift.
It comes after it was revealed that the Olympian’s mum was snubbed from his upcoming wedding to Holly Ramsay. The couple are counting down to their Christmas nuptials, which are set to be held at Bath Abbey.
But the 30-year-old was reportedly met by five uniformed police officers when his plane from Budapest arrived at Manchester Airport on Sunday night.
A source told The Sun that CCTV was monitored for suspicious activity by authorities, while Peaty was escorted from the building into a waiting vehicle amid fears he could be assaulted.
A friend told the publication: ‘The issues that have been reported don’t stem from hen do or wedding invitations; it goes so much deeper.
‘Things escalated over the weekend when someone became increasingly abusive and threatening over text. Adam was trying to enjoy his stag do and was getting freaked out by it all.
‘He then received a threat that he’d be met off the plane. He told Holly who called the cops after consulting with her family.’
Over the weekend, Gordon Ramsay’s daughter hosted her hen do at Soho Farmhouse – which was attended by Victoria Beckham, her own mum Tana, and Adam’s sister.
However notably absent was his mum Caroline, who supported Peaty in securing three Olympic gold medals.
It is reported that Caroline was at home for the weekend, looking after Adam’s five-year-old son George.
Other family members are now taking aim at the engaged couple on social media. The sportsman’s aunt Louise has weighed in, saying her sister is ‘not ok’ and has been ‘broken’ by her son and his fiancée.
She has claimed that Adam is ‘ashamed’ of his brothers, with the family also going so far as to call him a ‘narcissist’ who has been ‘changed’ by money and has ‘forgotten where he came from’.
On Instagram, Adam’s aunt commented on Holly’s old engagement announcement post this week, accusing her of being ‘divisive and hurtful’ towards Caroline, ‘a woman who opened her home and heart to you’.
‘You decided, for whatever reason, not to invite her, your prospective mother-in-law, to your hen night yet Adam invited his father-in-law, your dad, to his stag night,’ she wrote.
After listing the people Holly did invite and mentioning messages she’d seen between Adam and his mum, his aunt continued: ‘You have inflicted a hurt on my sister that will take a very long time to heal if ever.’
Metro contacted Adam Peaty’s representative and Greater Manchester Police for comment.
