Adam Peaty’s mum, Caroline, has issued a plea for peace in a bid to end the ongoing family feud ahead of his wedding to Holly Ramsay.
The decorated Olympic swimmer, 30, is set to marry his 25-year-old fiancée, Holly (daughter of TV chef Gordon Ramsay), in the coming weeks.
But the lead-up to the special day – set to take place in Bath Abbey on December 27 – has been tainted after the Peaty family has become embroiled in a bitter dispute.
Earlier this week, the Strictly star was branded a ‘narcissist’ after it was revealed his mum had been snubbed from the guest list, with his aunt claiming he had been ‘changed by money, fame and fortune’ in a recent interview.
Then, on the return from his stag do in Hungary, Adam’s brother James was reportedly arrested as the sportsman was escorted from the airport by armed police for protection after receiving sinister threats.
After their father, Mark, told The Sun that the rift had ‘got out of hand’, now Caroline has broken her own silence on the spiralling situation.
In an emotional final plea, she told the Daily Mail: ‘I know it’s the end. But please, the message I want Adam to hear is no matter what happens in the future, please know I love you, your dad loves you, you can come home and talk to me at any point.’
Adding that there’s nothing he’s done the former nursery manager ‘wouldn’t forgive’.
The heartbroken mum emphasised that she doesn’t wish ‘any ill’ on the happy couple and hopes they have a ‘long and happy marriage’, clearing up that she’s only speaking out now because she ‘wants all this to end’.
A family member previously shared they were on ‘universal credit’ and couldn’t afford to ‘attend the wedding’, claiming he had ‘forgotten where he came from’.
Speaking of Adam’s changed persona, Caroline has accused Adam of being in the Ramsay family’s ‘clutches’.
‘I can’t help but feel like they are pulling him away from me. Their family is very insular,’ she reflected.
The rift went public following Holly’s hen do after a series of snaps from the event – uploaded to Gordon and wife Tana’s social media – showed a star-studded guest list including Victoria Beckham, but no sign of Adam’s mum.
She shared that she had been tasked with taking care of Adam’s five-year-old son. George, on the night that he shares with ex-partner Eirianedd Munro.
After dropping her grandson off, Caroline recounted she was ‘crying all the way home’.
‘I got home and told Mark that for the first time in my life, I felt I didn’t want to live.
‘That’s how low this has made me. I’m a strong woman and I can get through anything, but this has broken me,’ she added.
Over on her Instagram, Caroline’s sister Louise accused Holly of being ‘divisive and hurtful’ in a catching social media takedown.
During the interview, Caroline shared that things took a turn for the worse between her and her son after she shared her upset at the wider family not being invited to his engagement party, followed by a debacle over a cream wedding outfit.
She concluded: ‘If he changed his mind, I would go. I want to go to Bath, to go into the abbey, to watch him get married.’
Meanwhile, his brother James, who was released on conditional bail after questioning, has had troubles with him since 2021, when Adam detailed his struggle with addiction in his autobiography, The Gladiator Mindset.
It’s now been claimed that Adam’s sister Bethany will be the only relative to attend the imminent nuptials.
