Sandler and his “Happy Gilmore 2” co-star Julie Bowen spoke about the Kansas City Chief tight end during an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

“Travis is such a gentle, nice guy – and funny as hell,” Sandler told the outlet. “He’s like the guys I grew up with. When I was with Travis, it reminded me of my buddies in high school, just being able to laugh and say the things you want to say.”

The actor went on to say that Kelce, who will make a cameo appearance in the upcoming sequel to “Happy Gilmore, is “a great actor and a great human.”

Sandler has previously revealed that his daughters Sadie, 19, and Sunny, 16, have met Kelce’s partner Taylor Swift a few times.

In 2023, Sandler star took the two girls to the Los Angeles premiere of Swift’s Eras Tour Film; the singer was spotted giving a hug to Sandler, Sadie and Sunny before she exited the theater.

“Taylor is incredible,” he told Entertainment Tonight of the singer. “Taylor is so nice to my family and has always been. My kids have met Taylor a bunch of times over the years, and she’s ridiculously nice to them and warm.”

During an episode of the “Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend” podcast last February, Sandler revealed that he can get “jumpy” around Swift.

“Just cause I don’t wanna blow it for my kids,” Sandler explained. “I stay as cool as I can.”

Kelce Is One Of Many Celebrities Set To Make An Appearance in ‘Happy Gilmore 2’

In addition to Kelce, Bad Bunny, Eminem, Eric André and several professional golfers are set to appear in the film – among many other celebrities. Sandler’s daughters will also cameo.

When asked about the cameos, Bowen told ET that “everybody wanted to be in it.” So, Sandler added it wasn’t “too difficult” to get people to make guest appearances.

“Happy Gilmore 2” will release on Netflix on July 25.
