She starred in two of Taylor Swift’s music videos in the past and hoped to wow Carrie Underwood, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan in the audition phase. Unfortunately, Cash didn’t make it. Her audition was never aired. She later took to TikTok to slam the series for “grooming” her. Cash also insinuated that her rejection had to do with Underwood’s personal feelings toward Swift.</p>
<p id=”par-3_66″>“Little did I know I was about to go in front of the <em>American Idol</em> judges after six months of grooming from producers saying how amazing of a singer/songwriter I was and loved my work with Taylor, just to have Carrie Underwood say I can’t sing and I can’t hang in Hollywood — after working in Hollywood for 20 years,” Cash wrote, according to <a href=”https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-14590379/Presley-Cash-Carrie-Underwood-American-Idol-producers-grooming.html” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>DailyMail.com</a>. </p>

<p id=”par-5_38″>Cash played a bullied girl in Swift’s music video for “Mean.” She then returned as the same character in “I Can See You.” Swift gave her a shoutout after the “I Can See You” music video was released.</p>

According to <a href=”https://www.the-sun.com/tv/14005156/the-voice-ratings-drop-show-loses-spot-american-idol/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>The U.S. Sun</a>, <em>American Idol</em> Season 23 brought in 4,145,000 viewers for the final round of Hollywood auditions with special guest Jelly Roll on April 7. The Sunday, April 6, episode brought in 5,123,000 viewers.</p>
<p id=”par-13_25″>Comparatively, <em>The Voice</em> Season 27’s Knockouts night on April 7 only brought in 3,321,000 viewers. The week prior, the show brought in 4,567,000 viewers. </p>
