On December 12, the 44-year-old actress announced the news in a brief, straightforward post on Instagram.
“Blah blah blah Chris and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage after 7 years,” Schumer wrote. “We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son. We would appreciate people respecting our privacy at this time. blah blah blah not because I dropped some lbs and thought I could bag s basket and not because heâs a hot Janlmes beard award winning chef who can still pull some hot tail. Amicable and all love and respect! Family forever.”

Shortly after Schumer broke the news, celebrities jumped to the comments section of her post to send their love and support.

“There’s nothing ugly. It’s a cohesive split,” a source told the outlet. “They’ve just been finalizing a few things.”
Schumer and Fischer tied the knot in 2018. They share a son, Gene, whom they welcomed in 2019.
Rumors of their separation have been making quite a buzz in recent weeks. On November 11, the actress removed all photos from her Instagram, including those with Fischer.
Then, on December 1, Schumer addressed the speculation in an Instagram post that is no longer available.
“Whatever ends up happening with me and Chris has nothing to do with weight loss or autism,” she wrote at the time. “Fingers crossed we make it through. He’s the best.”
