Amy Schumer dropped a racy behind-the-scenes photo of John Cena from the set of their film “Trainwreck” where Cena is posing in nothing but a towel.
Schumer Gives a Peek Behind-the-Scenes
GettyCena played one of Schumer’s love interests, gym rat Steven, in Judd Apatow’s 2015 comedy film prior to her character, Amy, meeting Dr. Aaron Conners, played by “Saturday Night Live” alum Bill Hader.
To celebrate Apatow’s birthday on December 6, Schumer took to her Instagram to share some throwback photos from the film. One of the photos included in the carousel featured Apatow and Cena posing together with their hands on their hips, while Cena has only a small towel to cover himself.

Inside the Filming of THAT Scene in ‘Trainwreck’
Schumer wrote and starred in “Trainwreck,” which launched her career in Hollywood after she had already become a TV sensation on the sketch show “Inside Amy Schumer.”
Along with Schumer, Hader, and Cena, the star-studded cast also featured comic Colin Quinn, and Oscar winners Tilda Swinton and Brie Larson, with NBA legend LeBron James as himself.
During the film, Schumer’s character Amy and Cena’s character Steven engaged in a hilarious and raunchy scene. While making an appearance on the podcast “Club Shay Shay,” he discussed filming that scene and how “it’s different” than people in the audience may “think it is.”
He explained that, while the final product allows audiences to only see the two actors in an intimate scene, what they don’t see is the whole “world” of production staff present on the other side of the camera.
“And this is like a great production nonetheless. But dude, man, like, catering was right there, and like the sound tent is right there,” Cena told host Shannon Sharpe.
“They started off, we started off practice â itâs like a closed set. And Iâve come to grips with like, oh, this is who you are, you work everyday to be the best you can…let it all hang out,” he recalled. “There are so many people you need to make a movie. There is nothing intimate about it, nothing. So like, itâs real embarrassing.”
Cena noted that “a comedic sex scene, where youâre like making fun of yourself” is even more of a challenge and “with an audience watching that, thatâs â itâs different. I donât wanna say it sucks. Itâs different than you all think it is.”
Even though he found the actual filming of the scene to be difficult, he praised Schumer, whom he described as an “angel.”
