Amy Schumer is experiencing major changes in her personal life. Along with splitting from her husband, Chris Fischer, after seven years of marriage, the star has just sold her Brooklyn townhouse.
Offloading the property for $11 million, according to the New York Post (which reported the sale news the same day Schumer posted about her separation from Fischer), the now-former couple originally brought the property in 2022 for 12.25 million.
The duo initially listed the home in March of this year for $14 million but failed to find a buyer at that time or price.
Once seen in the 1987 movie “Moonstruck” starring Cher, the townhouse was marketed by Adam Modlin of the Modlin Group, while the unknown buyer was an LLC registered to the propertyâs address.
Schumer apparently told the Wall Street Journal earlier this year that she and Fischer intended to move to Manhattan due to their sonâs schooling needs.
The Townhouse Offers Plenty of Perks
Built back in 1829, the townhouse sold by Schumer and Fischer is located at 19 Cranberry Street in Brooklyn.
A four-story residence that stretches over roughly 5,500 square feet, it includes five bedrooms as well as five bathrooms.
Beyond that, the home features a formal living room, an office space and even a wine cellar. It also has original fireplace mantels and a custom kitchen that boasts antique cabinetry.
That’s not to mention a restored mansard roof, gated parking and a private backyard that’s big enough to have a spot to lounge and space for kids to play.
Brooklyn Heights Is Home to Other Big Names Who Paid Millions to Live There
CanvaWhile it looks like Schumer and Fischer are leaving the area where their former townhouse is located, Brooklyn Heights is still home to other famous figures that were involved in deals worth millions of dollars.
For instance, “[a] renovated townhouse in the neighborhood traded in the boroughâs second-priciest deal in April 2024, when Glossier founder Emily Weiss and her husband bought the home at 1 Sidney Place asking $22.5 million,” according to The Real Deal.
Beyond that, “[a]n entity linked to Ed Sheeran and his wife, Cherry Seaborn, paid just under $12 million for a unit in the neighborhood in May. The couple picked up a condo at 130 Furman Street, where the musician previously rented an apartment for $36,000 a month, according to public records. The deal, which closed earlier this month, appears to have been off-market.”
So, if you want to call Weiss and Sheeran your neighbors by buying into Brooklyn Heights, you might need a few million dollars to make it happen.
