Anakin’s Not Done Yet; Hayden Christensen Confirms “Ahsoka” Season 2 Return

Our favorite emotionally complex Jedi-turned-Sith-turned-Force-ghost is coming back for more “Ahsoka.” Hayden Christensen dropped the confirmation himself at Star Wars Celebration in Tokyo, and it’s exactly the kind of chaotic Force energy we needed.

Christensen told the crowd he will be returning for Season 2 of the hit Disney+ series, which is set to start filming again next week. And if you’re wondering whether Ahsoka Tano’s actress, Rosario Dawson, is just as hyped as the rest of us—she is. “I’m so grateful he’s coming back,” she said (Entertainment Weekly). Anakin + Ahsoka = Star Wars Royalty

Christensen’s cameo in Season 1 wasn’t just a nostalgic flex, it added actual weight to Ahsoka’s journey. Whether it was flashbacks, Force ghost moments, or that mysterious World Between Worlds sequence, Anakin’s presence in the show hit fans hard.

And with “The Clone Wars” backstory baked into so much of Ahsoka’s character arc, bringing him back again isn’t just fan service… it’s essential. Their bond is baked into Ahsoka’s DNA, and seeing them reconnect in any form (past, present, or ethereal) is a must for longtime fans.

Reflecting on Season 1

The series’ creator, Dave Filoni, even said he’s “wanted to work with Christensen for years” and praised his stunt work; “his lightsaber skills are just insane,” he told EW back in 2023. It seems as though Christensen stepped right back into those Jedi boots like no time had passed; and gave an amazing performance too.

“So many people came to set just to see somebody in a Darth Vader costume, walking in a straight line!” Filoni also mentioned (in that same interview) explaining how important the connection between the characters and the fans is. “You realize the power of these characters and the archetypes that George Lucas created, and that’s a real responsibility. You never want that to lessen. You have to keep that as the powerful thing it is.”

The Galaxy’s Not Done With Him Yet

Season 2 of “Ahsoka” is shaping up to be even more jam-packed. According to EW, we’ve got Lars Mikkelsen back as Thrawn, Eman Esfandi as Ezra, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera. Also, Rory McCann (yes, The Hound from “Game of Thrones”) is stepping into the role of Baylan Skoll after the heartbreaking death of Ray Stevenson.

But let’s be honest: knowing Anakin will be around again just cranks the anticipation up several notches. One fan said it all best:
