Andy Cohen Breaks Silence on Big Bravo Breakup

Andy Cohen said he is very “sad” about Craig Conover and Paige DeSorbo’s breakup. The Bravo couple recently ended their relationship after three years of serious dating.

Cohen broke his silence on the topic on the January 6 episode of his Sirius XM show “Andy Cohen Live.”

“They’re both in the middle of an incredible amount of success. Both of them,” Cohen said of the “Southern Charm” and “Summer House” stars. “He just opened a restaurant in Charleston. He’s got this business. He’s got a store in Nashville and a place in Charleston,” Cohen said of Conover. “And then she is absolutely, like murdering it, killing it. Live tour, live,” he added of DeSorbo’s Giggly Squad tour.

Cohen said he noticed that DeSorbo skipped several events with Conover in recent months. “I was at the ‘Southern Charm’ premiere party, she wasn’t there, at his place in New York,” he said. “There’s been a few events that she hasn’t— you know she is so busy—and I just think the more and more that stuff starts to happen, you worry that it causes a strain or whatever.”

The Bravo host added that he is still in the dark regarding the reason for the breakup. “I mean listen we still don’t totally know, have a reason,” Cohen noted. “So more to come on that. But I was very sad about that. Everybody loves them. Who’s the first couple of Bravo now? I mean they were really the first couple of Bravo.”

DeSorbo announced the breakup news on the December 30 episode of her “Giggly Squad” podcast. “Craig and I have decided to no longer be together,” she said on the podcast. “I love him, I think he loves me. I think we will remain friends.”

The “Summer House” star added that “no one did anything” and that the breakup “wasn’t a bad thing.”

“I think we both were just being really mature and saying what we want and what we didn’t want, and I think that’s extremely powerful to be able to voice how you’re feeling in real time and what you want for your future,” she told her co-host Hannah Berner. “I think it is the right decision for both of us.”

Once the news broke, Cohen, who was on hiatus from his radio show and his Bravo late-night show “Watch What Happens Live” over the holidays, hit the comment section of a post about the split and left a series of crying face emojis.

Throughout their three-year relationship. Conover and DeSorbo regularly commuted between their hometowns in Charleston, South Carolina, and New York City.

The split news came just two weeks after Conover traveled to New York for a December 12 appearance on “Watch What Happens Live.” DeSorbo wasn’t there, despite the fact that Conover was in her city.

After offering “congratulations” to DeSorbo and Berner for wrapping a 56-city sell-out comedy tour, he explained why his longtime girlfriend was not in the WWHL audience that night. “She’s in bed with her cat right now,” he told Cohen.

Conover, who had been vocal about his desire to settle down with DeSorbo, also clarified that he was in no rush to impose an updated timeline for an engagement. “I think a lot of those timelines were definitely enforced by me and I didn’t know any better,” he said. “This is what I’ll admit now. I have no idea what’s going on at any point in time. We live in the week instead of obsessing about the future.”
