Angelina Jolie is turning heads with a bold new look. The Oscar-winning actress was photographed on the London set of her upcoming film “Anxious People,” where she debuted a striking short blonde bob.
The 50-year-old star, known for her signature dark locks, wore the platinum hairstyle while filming scenes on Sept. 3. Jolie completed her look with a cream-colored outfit, bright red lipstick and matching nail polish, giving fans a glimpse of her latest on-screen transformation.
Angelina Jolieâs Role in “Anxious People”
“Anxious People” is based on Fredrik Backmanâs 2019 bestselling novel of the same name. As reported by Deadline, Jolie plays Zara, an investment banker caught up in an unusual situation when a group of strangers at an open house are held hostage by a failed bank robber.
The film also stars Jason Segel and “The White Lotus” actress Aimee Lou Wood. Directed by Marc Forster, the adaptation mixes comedy and drama as secrets unfold and characters confront their personal struggles under pressure.
This is not the first time Jolie has gone blonde for a role. In 2002, she sported a Marilyn Monroe-inspired cut in “Life or Something Like It,” where she played a television reporter. Her latest hairstyle has already drawn comparisons to that performance.
A Family Connection & Return to Film
Maddox Jolie-Pitt, 24, the actressâs eldest son, was also spotted on set alongside the “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” actress.
Maddox Jolie-Pitt has long been involved in his motherâs film projects. He played a key role behind the scenes of her 2017 Cambodian biopic “First They Killed My Father,” where Jolie credited him with offering valuable perspective. He also supported his mother during the production of “Maria” in 2024, a performance that earned Jolie a Golden Globe nomination.
“Mad and Pax were on this one,” she told The Hollywood Reporter last year. “Doing AD [assistant directing] work. Theyâve done that quite a few times, and I think thatâs good for them.”
Angelina Jolie’s Philanthropy & A Fresh Chapter
Jolieâs new look also comes amid changes in her personal life. “Anxious People” marks a highly anticipated return for Jolie, who has balanced acting with directing, philanthropy, and raising her six children in recent years.
Jolie often uses her social media to spotlight her impressive humanitarian efforts as well as global issues. She has shared updates from her time in Chad with Sudanese refugees and, more recently, drew attention to World Refugee Day on June 20.
In addition to Jolie’s return to screen, sources recently told Page Six that she is preparing to sell her Los Angeles estate once owned by filmmaker Cecil B. DeMille, which she purchased for $24.5 million in 2017.
Whether she will remain in London long-term is unclear, but fans can expect to see her back on the big screen when “Anxious People” debuts.
