Despite a legendarily brutal breakup, Angelica Huston and Jack Nicholson are still there for each other when it counts.
Anjelica Huston Reveals Meaningful Connection She Has With Jack Nicholson Today
As she and her housekeeper were packing up her car with her three dogs and two cats, Huston was surprised to see that someone was calling. “The phone just rang out of nowhere, and it was him,” Huston told People. “It’s always a comfort when he calls.”
“It was heartbreakingly sweet,â says Huston. She didn’t take him up on the offer, but wishes that she had. âIâve gone back over it Âseveral times in my head, and I think next time Iâd accept the invitation,” she said.
Huston, 73, and Nicholson, 87, still have a strong bond after all these years and make it a point to keep in touch. But she admits that with other obligations — and road construction –they don’t see each other as much as she’d like.
“Life gets in the way,” she said. “Also, for some reason, they’ve been doing endless rerouting and road work near his house, so it takes hours to get to him, and that’s always irritating. I always managed to be late going to see him, which is very irritating for him.”
Huston and Nicholson Dated On & Off For Two Decades
The former couple spent 17 years together, dating on and off. Nicholson was notorious for his infidelities — which Huston had been aware of. âI loved him,” she explained to The Guardian why she stayed. “I think in the world that I was living in, it wasnât disrespectful. It was how he was, and it wasnât so personal. I think as soon as I clocked that, it was all right, I knew how to protect myself. It didnât make me happy, but I knew what I was doing.â
