Ant and Dec gave holidaymakers a lovely surprise in Majorca this week
Ant and Dec gave British holidaymakers the surprise of a lifetime when they were spotted at a budget family resort in Majorca on Wednesday.
Currently on a break from presenting duties – with the pair spending more time with their families – it seems their reduced TV responsibilities have allowed them to find some time in the sun.
The legendary presenting duo, both 48, were seen having a whale of a time at the Protur Bonaire Hotel in Cala Bona, causing mad excitement with Brits abroad.
People visiting the resort, situated on the island’s east coast, gathered round a pool area where the Saturday Night Takeaway stars were spotted in beach gear.
The pair were being driven round in a four-seater golf buggy while clutching small paddles with their faces on, making sure to wave to the crowds as they drove by.
While many Brits on the famous Balearic Isle were surprised to see two stars of TV on a budget resort, the explanation for their presence made much more sense.
‘Everyone was very excited to see them. We were sitting by the pool and they came past.’
Because beyond their work in TV, Ant and Dec also have a career in advertising, with the duo often spotted doing feature spots for Santander Bank, among others.
And it seems holiday company TUI are the latest brand to get the Geordie two on board – Ant and Dec were filming a TV commercial for the long-running travel agents.
The Protur Bonaire Hotel, lying a few miles north of Cala Bona itself, has long had links with TUI, which would explain why the advert was being filmed there.

And the pair looked in good spirits, giving the thumbs up to the dozens of people who realised that Ant and Dec were just yards away from their family getaways.
Although people were told they wouldn’t be able to get personal photographs, the former PJ & Duncan duo still made sure to acknowledge those who had their cameras out.
People staying at the hotel said they also gave big high fives to kids cheering them on, with holidaymaker Samantha telling MailOnline about what she saw.
‘Everyone was very excited to see them. They came on a transfer coach from Palma Airport to the hotel. We first saw them at lunchtime. We were sitting by the pool and they came past.’

She continued: ‘Everyone got wind and started to wait outside the apartment to see them. Eventually it turned out they were shooting an advert. They waved at everyone at the pool and they went into a private apartment to do some filming.
Samantha was then told that while she couldn’t have a personal photo with the lads, they still made sure to come out and wave to everyone once filming was done.
Their visit to Majorca marks a happy month or two for new dad Ant, who was spotted just two weeks ago strolling with his wife Anne-Marie and their new son Wilder Patrick.
The pair were seen in a residential area near the couple’s home and were dressed casually for the short walk, during which they bumped into some friends as well.
