Natasha Hamilton has revealed how her father and nephew narrowly avoided being caught up in the incident, which saw a car driven through the Liverpool Premier League parade.

Four children have been left injured following the horrific incident last night, which saw a 53-year-old British man drive his car into a crowd of fans.

The North West Ambulance service confirmed that 20 patients in total were treated at the scene for minor injuries, while 27 were taken to the hospital, with two of them sustaining serious injuries.

Now, Atomic Kitten singer Natasha has spoken out about how two of her family members were at the very same parade that day.

Sharing a picture of the two of them wearing Liverpool shirts on Instagram, she wrote: ‘My dad and nephew were in Liverpool today at the celebration parade.

‘Then I saw a video of what happened and my heart sank. Thankfully they’re both safe but I’m absolutely horrified at what I saw today and my thoughts and prayers are with all those affected.’

This comes as Liam Gallagher also sent his prayers to those who were affected by the car attack.

The Oasis icon took to X to say: ‘Thoughts and prayers with all our brothers and sisters of LIVERPOOL.’

John Bishop, who was born in Everton, took to Instagram as well to share that he was at the parade.

He said: ‘I was at the parade today with my dad and like everyone else I am shocked and heartbroken about the events at the end of the Liverpool parade.

‘My heart goes out to all those affected. Our anthem could not be more appropriate. You’ll Never Walk Alone.’

Merseyside Police are not treating the crash as an act of terrorism.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer has also described the scenes in Liverpool as ‘appalling’.

They added: ‘We can confirm the man arrested is a 53-year-old white British man from the Liverpool area. Extensive enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances leading up to the collision.

‘We would ask people not to share distressing content online but to send the footage or information directly to us @MerPolCC or pass on information by calling 101 quoting log 784. Information can also be passed on anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.’
