<p id=”par-2_90″>But to hear all the demands Meghan Markle still has for her staffers surprises people sometimes. That’s because she and Harry loathed the royal life they were living so much that they had to leave and move to America to achieve a more private life while raising their children in a more normal environment. Stepping down from their roles within the family makes them non-working royals, and Harry even tried early on to drop the whole prince thing when he said that he just wanted to be called “Harry.” </p>
<p id=”par-3_41″>That was something Meghan never agreed to though because she has continued to use her royal title since leaving the U.K. and has reportedly even made a demand about what her staffers are to do whenever she enters a room. </p>

The practice was noted in a recent interview with <em>Harper’s Bazaar</em> writer Kaitlyn Greenidge, who described the announcement happening in both a friend’s brownstone and when meeting with girls at a STEM school. </p>
<p id=”par-5_27″>“When I enter, the house manager announces, ‘Meghan, Duchess of Sussex,’ even though we appear to be the only other two people in the house,” Greenidge wrote.</p>
<p id=”par-6_20″>Author Douglas Murray was asked what he thought about the duchess’s demand during an appearance on Sky News Australia. </p>
<p id=”par-7_51″>Murray injected sarcasm into it, saying, “There’s another way to see this. If you’re standing in a room in Montecito, and you’re innocently going about your business and someone appears at the door and says the Duchess Meghan is about to come in, it gives you a few seconds to scram.</p>
<p id=”par-8_62″>“It acts as a warning to anyone who doesn’t want to be immediately pitched to about her homemade jam and recruited into being one of her new best friends who appear on her lamentable Netflix series and pose as her new best friend even though it turns out that they’ve never met before … So I think it’s a great clearing device.”</p>
