The Great British Bake Off viewers have again thrown their support behind a fan favourite contestant after he missed out on winning.
The latest season of the beloved programme wrapped up this week, with paediatric nurse Georgie Grasso from Carmarthenshire in Wales crowned the winner.
Alongside Christiaan de Vries and Dylan Bachelet, the trio were tasked with making scones and then an afternoon tea.
Despite an impressive run throughout the season, 20-year-old Dylan crumbled just before the finish line.
His performance left viewers on edge, especially after his attempts at a ‘gravity defying’ floating cake instead turned out to be ‘lumpy’ and ‘concertinaed’.
Although he wasn’t able to take out the win, it was revealed that Dylan has now not only achieved his dream of becoming professional chef, but is now working at a Michelin star restaurant.

At the end of the finale, it was announced what Dylan had been doing since filming on the series wrapped up but details about his new job were limited.
However it’s now been announced he’s working at the Five Fields in Chelsea, which is known for dishing up diners with modern British dishes.
After the finale the restaurant posted a series of photos of him in the kitchen on social media, adding: ‘Huge congratulations to our own @DylanBachelet_ for making it through to @britishbakeoff 2024 finals this week!
‘Dylan has been very good at not letting on, even to us, how well he has done so we are all waiting with baited breath and cheering him on each episode.
’We couldn’t be more proud of his accomplishments!!’
The reveal delighted many Bake Off fans, who shared their congratulations to the chef.

‘It’s fabulous that he has found a job in a kitchen already. He is going to be a star!’ Denise commented on the Instagram post.
‘Well done Dylan – you will go far. Don’t ever lose that fantastic personality of yours,’ Amanda shared.
‘Congratulations on your achievements in Bake Off Dylan, but even bigger congratulations on your journey to come,’ Marina added.
After the finale aired, Dylan also shared a lengthy post on Instagram reflecting on his time on Bake Off.
First calling his fellow finalists ‘unbelievable bakers’ he said the finale was a ‘rollercoaster’ but looking back on it he ‘wouldn’t change a thing’.
After praising each of them, he explained he never could have imagined he’d make it to the final.
‘I barely baked before the show, every week was a different beast, so with every week I learnt so much in order to get through. I took the whole show a week at a time, never stopping to look back at what I’d done, and now it’s over, I’m a finalist. That’s unreal to me,’ he said.
‘I’m sad it’s over, the last year of my life has been intertwined with bake off, and everything amazing that comes with it. The people, the food, the creativity, the fun and the challenge. I will miss it all so much. That being said I am very excited and ready for the future. I can finally say that, and that’s exciting in itself. Thank you for watching. I feel lucky to have shared it all with my family, I’m grateful to have always had them be such an important aspect of my life.’
Dylan concluded by saying he was ‘glad to have shared’ the experience with all of the bakers.
‘I had doubts about all of it at the beginning, but you all made me feel so comfortable. Such an extraordinary group of people. I will forever relish the memories of our dinners, an absolute highlight of my life, free food and fantastic company.’
The Great British Bake Off is streaming on Channel 4.
