A BBC star has poked fun at the hit Channel 4 show Gogglebox after joking she ‘couldn’t get them to watch her show’.
The Friday night favourite, voiced by Craig Cash, has been a long-standing feature of the broadcaster’s line-up, with 26 seasons and counting.
It last aired on New Year’s Day with a festive special that saw our beloved coach potatoes watching the best of Christmas TV.
There’s a new season coming on February 6, and one comedian certainly wants her show to be featured.
Lucia Keskin, also known as Chi With A C, has published a skit on her socials impersonating all of our Gogglebox favourites watching the freshly released second season of her series Things You Should Have Done.
The 24-year-old posted a video on X with the caption: ‘When you can’t get actual Gogglebox to watch your show, so you do Gogglebox watching your show, watch Gogglebox as part of your show.’
In the promotional video she impersonated the likes of best friends Lee and Jenny from Hull, sisters Ellie and Izzi from Leeds, and couple Giles and Mary from Wiltshire.
She also took on the Malone family from Manchester – including their dog – as well as making up her own narration.
Copying the tone of The Royle Family star and poking fun at her own creation, she said: ‘In a week that started with a Monday and ended with a Sunday, we enjoyed some new strange telly.’
We then see the Gogglebox stars, all played by Chi, settle down to watch an extract from her comedy series.
Users on X found it hilarious – Juliette Jones said: ‘This is wonderful. Ellie and Izzi are more Ellie and Izzi than Ellie and Izzi.’
Wendy Bartholomew called it ‘an absolute masterpiece’, and Electroflex added: ‘Ended up watching this scene three times, just brilliant! You really nailed Dave!’
The Bafta-awarding winning sitcom, Things You Should Have Done, stars Bridget Christie, Selin Hizli, Jamie Bisping and Daniel Fearn, and one part of the new series was described by @MGallIBF as ‘genuinely one of the funniest episodes of any show I’ve watched’.
First released in 2024, the synopsis reads: ‘Get a job! Pay the bills! Clueless Chi is forced to fend for herself when her parents die. To get her inheritance, the ultimate stay-at-home daughter has to step it up.’
The first episode of season two is titled ‘Get Therapy’, and the following thirty minute instalments hint at different barriers Chi must overcome.
Things You Should Have Done is available to watch on BBC iPlayer. Gogglebox returns to Channel 4 next Friday at9pm.
