It’s the moment we have been waiting for: “Dancing with the Stars” Season 34 premieres on Tuesday, September 16, 2025. Ahead of the show, we are taking a behind-the-scenes look at some of the things that will be happening on premiere night! 

Behind-The-Scenes on DWTS Season 34 Premiere Night 

The episode will air at 8 p.m. ET and last two hours, ending at 10 p.m. ET. The show can be watched on ABC and Disney+ and streamed the day after on Disney+. There is a lot to be excited about this season, including the return of beloved professional dancers and the inclusion of a new dancer, Jan Ravnik, who worked on Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour. 

Fans were initially heartbroken to learn Sasha Farber would not be returning for Season 34. He will still be around in a different capacity. The official “Dancing with the Stars” Instagram account announced on September 15 that Farber would be giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at what was happening on the big night. “Ready for more behind the scenes? We’re going LIVE on TikTok with @sashafarber1 TOMORROW to celebrate the #DWTS Premiere!” the caption reads. 

Farber’s DWTS family has shown their support in the comment section, but what have we learned from his footage? Farber shared short clips on his Instagram Stories on September 16 and gave viewers a look at pro Gleb Savchenko dancing onstage. Savchenko’s birthday is also on September 16, and he is 42. 

There is also a gigantic mirror ball hanging from the ceiling, and Farber interviewed “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star Whitney Leavitt to ask her how she was feeling. She responded with nervous laughter, saying, “I don’t even know how to answer that question.” The pro revealed he saw her run-through, which was with professional dancer Mark Ballas, and it was really good!

Who Will Fans See on DWTS Season 34? 

This season, there has been no change to the judging panel with Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Derek Hough returning. Inaba will miss the first episode of the show because she is not well.

Celebrity competitors this season are an interesting mix, from an Olympic gold medalist to a wildlife conservationist. The complete list is: “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” stars Jen Affleck and Whitney Leavitt, wildlife conservationist Robert Irwin, NBA’s Baron Davis, social media influencer Alix Earle, “The Traitors” star Dylan Efron ‘80s child star Corey Feldman, “Boy Meets World” star Danielle Fishel, comedian Andy Richter, influencer Hilaria Baldwin, Olympic gold medalist Jordan Chiles, Fifth Harmony singer Lauren Jauregui, actress Elaine Hendrix, and Grammy winner Scott Hoying. 

The contestants and their pro partners have been promoting themselves ahead of the premiere to generate excitement. Feldman and his partner Jenna Johnson posted on Instagram Stories to tease their performance. Johnson stated they are “very excited.” Feldman revealed that fans “don’t even know what we have in store for you.” 

Chiles has shared her thoughts on the premiere with an Instagram post. “Today is the day!!! I just want to say thank you to everyone who believed in me and said one day I would be on Dancing with the Stars!!! Words cant express how excited I am for this opportunity,” she wrote. The gymnast thanked several people for helping her dreams come true, including her pro partner Ezra Sosa. She thanked him “for making this little girls dream come true!!” 

Soza responded to the post with a comment, writing, “So excited you are on this journey with me.”
