On December 23, 2025, her grandson, Culsan, announced that the popular creator, Epic Gamer Grandma, has passed away at 78. “Rest in peace, Grandma,” he wrote, before calling it “the post I never wanted to make.” He also revealed in the post that his grandmother, who was born on August 25th 1947, died on December 21st. He chose a sweet photo of the TikToker wearing an “ECG” branded sweatshirt from her own line of merch. Epic Gamer Grandma, whose real name was Agnes, had over 2 million TikTok followers. She had been hospitalized with COPD in the past 2 months, per TMZ.

The internet star’s family remembered her in a lengthy and emotional tribute. They wrote that they were in “an incredible amount of pain” to make the announcement before saying “Epic Gamer Grandma died peacefully at 9:20pm on Sunday December 21st.” “She left this world the way she lived in it; surrounded by love,” they wrote after sharing that she died holding the hand of her daughter, Pauline. The family called their grandmother “the strongest woman we know,” before saying “we are completely heartbroken but also incredibly proud.”

The TikToker’s family highlighted the things for which she will be remembered, starting by praising her for inspiring “every older person who aw her and realized it’s not too late to try something new,” and “every younger person who looked at her and thought, ‘age is really just a number.’”
They went on to list, “Every family who watched her together and found a little bit of light on a dark day,” and “Every person who felt less alone because she honest about being scared, ill, or tired but still finding reasons to smile.”
The family then lovingly wrote, “Grandma showed that the internet doesn’t only belong to the young. She showed that you can be in your seventies and still find new communities, new friendships, new ways to express yourself. She reminded people that our elders are not inviable. That they have stories, humor, opinions, and so much love left to give.”
