Beloved Actor Julian McMahon’s Last Instagram Post

The news broke on July 4 that Julian McMahon had sadly passed away two days prior. He’s known for several roles, but for many, his most famous was playing Dr. Doom in “Fantastic Four.” Julian was a consummate actor who loved his work, and his final post on Instagram perfectly captures that. 

Regarding Julian McMahon’s death, his wife, Kelly McMahon, shared in a statement that he passed away on July 2. According to Deadline, she said, “With an open heart, I wish to share with the world that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer.”

She continued, “Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends.” Kelly then said, “He loved his work, and he loved his fans. His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible.”

Julian McMahon’s wife continued, “We ask for support during this time to allow our family to grieve in privacy. And we wish for all of those to whom Julian brought joy, to continue to find joy in life. We are grateful for the memories.”


Julian McMahon’s Final Instagram Post

Many people knew Julian McMahon for playing Dr. Doom in “Fantastic Four” and for his roles in shows like “Charmed” and “Nip/Tick.” However, he remained active in Hollywood, as evidenced by his final Instagram post. 

The actor took to the platform on February 27 to promote his latest film. Julian said in the post, “Hey there, everyone. Just letting you know we have a great movie coming out, directed by Lorcan Finnegan. Its premiere is at SXSW, very exciting, and it’s in theaters May 2nd.”

Julian McMahon continued, “It’s a psychological thriller, very unique, and very entertaining. I hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it. Cheers #TheSurferFilm.” Included with it is a poster for the film, “The Surfer,” which features a large image of Nicholas Cage, who stars in it with Julian. 

Notably, he shared a trailer for the film the day prior on the platform. Julian McMahon added the caption, “Don’t live here, don’t surf here. Nicolas Cage is The Surfer, riding into theaters May 2. #TheSurferFilm”


He Leaves Behind a Lasting Legacy

Julian McMahon was born in 1968. According to IMDb, the beloved actor had over 40 acting credits, with the first being in 1989 with a role in “Rafferty’s Rules.” He was later in the TV series “Home and Away,” “Another World,” and “Profiler.” 

However, one of his most well-known television roles was in 2000, when he appeared in “Charmed” for 47 episodes. Later came “Nip/Tuck,” in which Julian McMahon was one of the two lead characters from 2003 until 2010. Regarding his most notable film, he played Dr. Doom in “Fantastic Four” (2005).

His final credited role is in Shonda Rhimes’ 2025 Netflix mini series “The Residence.”
