Beloved Beauty Queen Tragically Passes Away at 16: Tributes Pour In

Gabrielly Moreira, a 16-year-old beauty queen and high school student, was found dead on September 19 in a house under construction in Ceará, Brazil. Local outlet El Tiempo reported that emergency services discovered her body, and her father, Valbério Moreira, said she appeared to have bruises and a bloodstain on her chin.

Two bottles of vodka were found nearby after she had gone out with friends. Authorities, including the Pedra Branca Municipal Guard and state forensic officials, have launched an investigation, and an autopsy has been ordered to determine her cause of death.

A Rising Star in Local Pageants

Moreira was a beloved presence in her community, known for her success in local pageants. She was crowned Queen of the Pedra Branca Parade in 2025, after serving as Princess the previous year.

In May, she earned the title of Queen of Corn. Each honor celebrated her charm, charisma, and the joy she brought to community traditions.

“Your smile, your joy, and your glow brought life to our parties, and your presence will always be remembered with affection,” organizers of the Corn Festival wrote on Instagram. “Today the crown bids farewell to its queen, but her reign will remain forever in the memory and hearts of all who had the honor of living with her.”

Community Pays Tribute to Moreira

The Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Water Resources, which oversees the Pedra Branca Parade, honored Moreira with a moving tribute. “Her presence was always synonymous with joy, charisma, and dedication, becoming a role model for the youth and the entire community,” the organization shared in Portuguese.

They added, “In this moment of grief, we stand in solidarity with family, friends and the entire population of Pedra Branca, praying to God to comfort their hearts and grant them the strength to overcome such a great loss.”

School & Community Remember Her Spirit

Moreira’s school, Elza Gomes Martins Full-Time Middle School, remembered her for the light she brought to the classroom. “The affection, joy, and dedication that marked her coexistence among colleagues, teachers, and the entire school community” will always be remembered, the school wrote.

“In this moment of pain and dismay, we stand in solidarity with family and friends, praying God to comfort their hearts and grant strength to face this irreparable loss. May you rest in peace,” the message continued.

As the investigation continues, Moreira’s community mourns not only a pageant queen but also a teenager remembered for her joy, charisma, and promise.
