Legendary actor and stuntman Neil Summers has passed away at the age of 81. Summers is best known for his role in “Dick Tracy” as the Rodent. However, he was also a significant part of “RoboCop” thanks to his work as a stuntman.

A close friend of Summers, David Friedman, confirmed the sad news to TMZ on September 10. Notably, Summers passed away on September 4 at his home in Kanab, Utah. The report states that his family surrounded him at the time of passing. It was noted that he passed away from natural causes.

Tributes are Pouring in for His Legacy

Though Summers never became an A-list talent, he leaves a significant mark on the entertainment industry. As a result, many are taking to social media to pay tribute to his legacy and to remember the works he did during his decades in the business.

One person stated on X, “I learned that actor/stuntman Neil Summers, who portrayed The Rodent in Dick Tracy, has passed away. He starred in numerous film & TV westerns and owned one of the largest western collections in the world. He was a true gentleman and cowboy at heart. He was 81 yrs old. RIP, sir.”

Someone else wrote on the platform, “I’m very sad to hear that my dear friend Neil Summers has passed away. Rest in Peace my friend, you were a real Cowboy.”

Another person wrote, “Farewell to the extraordinary Neil Summers, British actor and specialist forever linked to the western thanks to his memorable performances in films like the fantastic MY NAME IS NOBODY, alongside his great friend Terence Hill.”
