The outing came just weeks after Conn made another public appearance, this time at Los Angeles’ iconic Hollywood Bowl, where she hosted a “Grease” sing-along screening in June.

Fans were in for an emotional surprise when John Travolta, dressed as Danny Zuko, made a heartfelt cameo.

“Let me tell you something,” Conn told People in an interview published July 9. “When 18,000 people stand up and scream, it is unreal… There’s Pink Ladies, there’s T-Birds, there’s jocks, there’s nerds. It’s amazing that this film is a phenomenon.”

The evening kicked off around 8 p.m., with guests settling in as the sun dipped low enough for the screening to begin.

Didi Conn took the stage first, soon joined by three of her original T-Bird castmates, Barry Pearl (Doody), Michael Tucci (Sonny), and Kelly Ward (Putzie). Later, the group was joined by “Grease” director Randal Kleiser, making the nostalgic moment even more special.

Travolta’s appearance was special to Conn, who viewed it as a tribute to their late friend and co-star Olivia Newton-John, who died in 2022 following her battle with breast cancer.

“It was perfect,” Conn said. “What is better than a tribute to Olivia and [Sandy’s] boyfriend comes out to be there? It was so wonderful. Really wonderful.”

Looking Back at the Magic of ‘Grease’

Reflecting on her time filming “Grease”, Conn still feels immense gratitude. “Boy, how lucky was I?” she told People. “That was just a wonderful experience. We all had fun, but who knew?”

She added, “And to have two days of my own little studio to do ‘Beauty School Dropout’ with sexy Frankie Avalon coming with me. Honestly, my heart is so open.”
