The 37-year-old “Eternal Love” star tragically fell from an apartment in Beijing’s Chaoyang district on September 11, his team confirmed. âWith unbearable sorrow, we announce that our beloved Menglong fell to his death on September 11,â the statement on Weibo, reported by Asia One, read.
âPolice have ruled out any criminality. We hope he rests in Peace and his loved ones remain strong.â
Menglongâs passing shocked fans across China and beyond. Authorities confirmed there is no evidence of foul play, though investigations into the exact circumstances remain ongoing. The actorâs last on-screen credit was an episode of “Feud” earlier this year.
Known for ‘Eternal Love’ & ‘Go Princess Go‘
Menglong began his career in music, competing on China-based shows including “My Show! My Style” and two seasons of “Super Boy.” In 2013, he placed in the top ten on “Super Boy.” He released his single “Just Nice” in 2014 and his debut album “Toy” in 2015, which helped him transition to acting.
Menglong earned national recognition for his role as the ninth prince in the historical web drama “Go Princess Go” in 2015. His popularity soared in 2017 when he portrayed Bai Zhen in Netflix’s “Eternal Love.”
He also starred in “Xuan-Yuan Sword: Han Cloud,” “The Legend of the White Snake,” and “Who’s Not Rebellious Youth.” His final web dramas, “The Love Lasts Two Minds” and “The Moon Brightens For You,” were released in 2020.
