Kimberly Hébert Gregory

Kimberly Hébert Gregory, known for “Vice Principals,” “Red Hook Summer,” and “Craig of the Creek,” has sadly passed away. She passed on October 3 at the age of 52. Her husband, Chester Gregory, shared the news, and now her former co-star, Walton Goggins, has reacted.”

Her husband said on Instagram, “Kimberly Hébert Gregory, You Were Brilliance Embodied,
A Black Woman Whose Mind Lit Every Room, Whose Presence Carried Both Fire And Grace.
You Taught Us Lessons In Courage, In Artistry, In Resilience, And In How To Keep Showing Up,
Even When Life Demanded More Than Its Share.”

His heartfelt post continued, “Through Our Best, Through Our Greatest Challenges,
What Remained Was Love, Respect, And A Bond No Storm Could Break.”

Gregory concluded, “Rest In Power, Rest In Peace, Rest In The Eternal Knowing That You Are Loved,
Always. Kim… You Did Good. Sunrise: 12/07/1972 Sunset: 10/03/2025.”


Goggins and Many of Gregory’s Fans are Paying Tribute to the Actress

Upon learning of Gregory’s passing, Goggins took to Instagram to pay tribute to her. He said on October 4, “We lost one of the best yesterday… one of the best I’ve ever worked with. Kimberly Hebert Gregory.”

The actor continued, “I had the honor… the good fortune of getting to know, getting to spend months working with this Queen on Vice Principals. She made me laugh like no other. A professionals professional. A gatdamn SOPRANO that never missed a note. You will be missed, my friend. As much as you know.”

Many fans are also posting tributes to Gregory’s legacy. One person said on X, “RIP Kimberly Hebert Gregory! A great character actress who went toe to toe with Walton Goggins/Danny McBride and acted her ass off. She will be missed.”

Someone else wrote, “Oh my god. This is so devastating. Kimberly Hébert Gregory was an incredible talent. Truly hilarious and sympathetic and beautiful. Her run on Vice Principals is legendary. My heart goes out to her family.”


She Leaves Behind an Impressive Legacy

Gregory accomplished quite a bit throughout her career. She began acting in the 1990s and appeared in various stage productions. According to IMDb, her first on-screen role came in 2007 when she was cast in “I Think I Love My Wife.” She played the babysitter in that movie.

After that, she made appearances in several television shows. They include “The Black Donnelleys,” “Gossip Girl,” “Law & Order,” “Two and a Half Men,” and many others. One of her standout roles came in 2016 when she starred alongside Goggins in “Vice Principals.” She was also a fixture on “Kevin (Probably) Saves the World.”

Her final role was in “Craig of the Creek,” which lasted from 2018 until January 2025. Gregory will be missed.
