A beloved American star has revealed that she once had flings with two of the biggest names in showbusiness. Actress, singer, and former model Cybill Shepherd, 75 â the star of movies like 1976’s ‘Taxi Driver’ and television shows like ‘Psych’ â spilled the beans on the relationships on Friday, October 17, at the Catalina Jazz Club in Los Angeles, during An Evening with Cybill Shepherd: Music, Conversation & Stories.
The two stars in question? Actor Don Johnson and the “King of Rock and Roll” himself, Elvis Presley.
The Fling With Don Johnson Was in 1985

Cybill Shepherd explained that her fling with Johnson occurred in 1985, when both stars worked on the made-for-television romantic drama movie ‘The Long Hot Summer’ â a remake of the 1958 Martin Ritt film of the same name starring Paul Newman, Joanne Woodward, Anthony Franciosa and Orson Welles.
Johnson starred in the movie as drifter Ben Quick, while Shepherd had a supporting role as Eula Varner, the daughter of business owner and key character Will Varner.
As per People, Shepherd explained that she and Johnson had no joint screentime, but they still spent time together away from the set.
She said, “Don Johnson and I did not do scenes together, but we did have a lot of fun. No, we didn’t do scenes in front of the camera – we messed around behind the camera.”
Shepherd also gave away some behind-the-scenes details, revealing she had targeted a different role in the movie, but was rejected for it for a strange but flattering reason.
She explained, “They said I was too pretty for the Joanne Woodward part for the remake of The Long, Hot Summer.”
Cybill Shepherd Enjoyed a 1970s Romance With Presley

Shepherd also went into some detail about Elvis Presley, referring to the fling she enjoyed with him in the 1970s.
Just before she performed her song ‘Graceland (Revisited),’ she discussed the iconic singer â the man who inspired said song â the late Presley, who died at the age of just 42 on August 16, 1977.
Following her performance of the song devoted to him, Shepherd said, “Elvis was really cool though” and referred to him as “a great guy.”
Shepherd hasn’t been too active on screen in recent years. Her most recent small screen role came in the made-for-television movie ‘How to Murder Your Husband: The Nancy Brophy Story,’ in which she played the eponymous Brophy. Her most recent big screen role was in 2020, when she played Nancy in the drama movie ‘Love Is Love Is Love.’
Other famous credits for the star include the television shows ‘The Yellow Rose,’ ‘Moonlighting,’ and her self-titled sitcom ‘Cybill,’ and movies like 1971’s coming-of-age drama ‘The Last Picture Show,’ 1976’s neo-noir crime comedy ‘Special Delivery,’ and 1979’s mystery comedy ‘The Lady Vanishes.’
