On Wednesday, the network announced that it had renewed new series <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/boston-blue-showrunner-sean-reagan-recasting.html/”><em>Boston Blue</em></a><em> </em>for season 2. <em>Fire Country </em>spinoff <em>Sheriff Country </em>will also return for a second season. </p>
<p id=”par-2_58″>“Two new shows on Friday night have become instant hits, with audiences quickly embracing <em>Boston Blue</em> and <em>Sheriff Country </em>across broadcast and streaming,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment. “These early renewals reflect the power of character-driven storytelling, compelling narratives and the exceptional talent on both sides of the camera that make these series truly stand out.”</p>

<p id=”par-8_46″><em>Blue Bloods </em>spinoff <em>Boston Blue </em>premiered October 17. Since then, it’s averaged 8 million viewers in Nielsen live plus 7-day multiplatform ratings, according to CBS. It is outperforming its parent series in streaming, with viewership up 87% from <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/tom-selleck-blue-bloods-final-season-people-arent-ready-say-goodbye.html/”><em>Blue Bloods</em>’ final season</a>, which aired in 2024. </p>
<p id=”par-9_73″><em>Boston Blue </em>airs Fridays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. Episodes also stream on Paramount+. In the show’s upcoming December 5 episode, “Baggage Claim,” Lena’s (Sonequa Martin-Green) pursuit of justice forces Danny (Wahlberg) into an unexpected role reversal, while Sarah (Maggie Lawson) faces a personal dilemma that tests her resolve. Meanwhile, Mae (Reuben) contends with political pressure, and Sean (Mika Amonsen) and Jonah (Scribner) uncover more than they anticipated during a routine case.</p>
