A new Hollywood feud has entered the ring in 2025, and it might be the most bizarre one yet.
Fans of actors Brad Pitt and Shah Rukh Khan are arguing online following the trailer drop for the Bollywood icon’s latest film, King.
King, set to be released in 2026, will see the star, 60, in the lead role, reportedly mentoring a young woman to survive in a high-stakes criminal world.
A trailer that dropped yesterday not only revealed the eagerly anticipated film’s title but also gave fans a sneak peek of the Hindi cinema icon in his latest role.
But it is one minor detail that has caused the unlikely feud among his fanbase and that of Hollywood star Pitt, 61.
Why are Brad Pitt and Shah Rukh Khan fans feuding?
Fans of both Pitt and Khan have been locking horns due to an outfit choice in the trailer for Khan’s upcoming film King.
The Hindi-language film will see Khan star alongside his daughter, Suhana Khan, in her theatrical debut.
But it is one particular look his character wears that has sparked controversy, with a scene showing Khan in a tan jacket, sunglasses, and a blue shirt.
For those who think it looks familiar, the costume bears a striking resemblance to one Pitt wears in his hit film F1.
It is unclear whether it is a deliberate tribute or a happy coincidence, and fans have wasted no time debating it online.
Das wrote on X: ‘Making SRK mimic Brad Pitt’s F1 outfit was so unnecessary.’
Shubhrayan reasoned, however: ‘I think this was intentional; a homage to Brad Pitt’s #F1 look 🔥.’
Am_Migrade posted: ‘Costume Designer just watched F1 before joining the sets of #King.’
Kabir joked: ‘Manifested SRK to look like Brad Pitt in F1 and the Universe didn’t even hesitate.’
Others have argued that ‘Khan wore it first’ after sharing screengrabs of him in 2017 rom-com Jeb Harry Met Sejal, in which he also wears a similar outfit seven years prior to F1’s release.
Sharing snaps of all three outfits, Faizan Shaikh wrote: ‘People are trolling #SRK for copying #BradPitt. Seriously bruh?’
AJ added: ‘SRK copied Brad pitt in #King. Meanwhile #ShahRukhKhan in JHMS.’
SD Filmy News said: ‘Oh, #BradPitt tried the brown-jacket-blue-shirt combo? Cute.
‘ShahRukhKhan’s been doing it since 2017 — and making it look like royalty ever since. 👑
‘Why are we debating on fashion when charisma is the main character? 😏🔥.’
Khan and Pitt met back in 2017, pouring compliments on each other during the premiere of the latter’s film, War Machine, in Mumbai.
Praising Pitt’s films 12 Monkeys and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Khan said: ‘That’s when I became a fan of you as an actor. I would ask you to continue with those kinds of roles.’
When asked if he could ever see himself making the move into Bollywood, Pitt said: ‘I would never make it in Bollywood because I can’t dance. I just can’t.’
