Things got a little tense at one point during the final round of Britain’s Got Talent 2025 auditions.
Security instinctively stepped in when Simon Cowell was confronted by an audience member—but all was not as it seemed.
Midway through the auditions, as the judges chatted amongst themselves, a man could be heard calling Simon’s name from further back in the theatre.
‘What?’, the music mogul, 65, replied, turning round to search for the faceless voice.
Standing from his seat, the spectator told him: ’19 years I’ve been trying to get in front of you, and I’ve never, ever had that chance.’

‘Can you give me one opportunity? I can show you what I’ve got,’ he pleaded.

As Simon also stood up, he told the man to approach the desk.
At this point, security flocked over, ready to intervene. However, Simon told them to stand down, assuring the guard: ‘No, it’s OK.’
With a smile on his face, he greeted the hopeful, while one security guard remained by the desk as a precaution.
Simon, who has judged BGT since 2007, asked: ‘Are you serious? Is this a wind-up?’
Introducing himself and shaking hands with the judge, Max Fox told Simon: ‘I’m a singer; I’m a local singer.’
Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and guest judge KSI were all stunned by the twist in the format, as KSI remarked: ‘I’ve never seen this before.’

Several other audience members then rose to their feet for a glimpse of the action, as Max told the panel: ‘I feel like it’s my last time.’
Seemingly welcoming the shake-up, Simon shrugged and said: ‘Alright, go do it.’
‘So, this isn’t a set-up?’, he asked one more time, just to be sure. ‘You just chanced it?’
‘I just chanced it, yeah,’ Max told him. ‘I got to the front of the audience. I just got lucky with this jacket, I think.’
He then made his way to the stage, the thousands-strong crowd cheering him on for his impromptu audition.
Viewers will find out tonight whether Max was simply all talk or whether his singing talents will help him through to the live shows…
Britain’s Got Talent continues tonight at 7pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
