Celebrity Big Brother fans have already predicted a ‘romance in house’

Celebrity Big Brother viewers have said they are ‘already groaning’ over the ‘inevitable showmance’ between two housemates.

Last night, after being greeted by hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best, 13 celebrities headed into the famous house, including one-hit wonder Chesney Hawkes, Trisha Goddard, JoJo Siwa and Mickey Rourke.

A colourful cast of characters, viewers of the ITV show were sharing predictions for the celebrities’ upcoming antics, even believing a romance was on the cards.

It would not be the first time housemates have found love on Celebrity Big Brother, with the likes of former couple Chantelle Houghton and Preston falling immediately for each other in 2006, announcing their engagement three months later.

In 2011, in one of the most unexpected couples of all time, Kerry Katona met her ex, Emily in Paris star Lucien Laviscount, on Celebrity Big Brother, who is being tipped for James Bond, but they later split due to their 12-year age gap.

Now, Celebrity Big Brother fans are placing bets on 2025 housemates Towie star Ella Rae Wise, 24, and Love Islander Chris Hughes, 32, becoming an item.

‘The way they put the camera straight on Chris when Ella came in, they want a showmance chile not subtle at all,’ as X user @Keke_Jane24 said.

Echoing their sentiment, @slinehan1 wrote: ‘The camera IMMEDIATELY panning to Chris when Ella walked in lmao. They know what they’re doing.’

@mariahscracker shared: ‘Chris seeing Ella walk in the house. He’s going to go for her, isn’t he?! #CBBUK #CelebrityBigBrother #CBB.’

Also predicting a fling between Chris and Ella, @MissFee85 penned: ‘#CBBUK I can see a thing happening with Ella and Chris.

@twisty_skylar also added: ‘Already groaning at the inevitable Chris and Ella showmance. #CBB #CBBUK.’

Ella is newly single after ending her 18-month relationship with Dancing On Ice contestant Dan Edgar, 34,

‘It has nothing to do with Big Brother. It was a decision that I had to make because I didn’t feel that we were getting things that we wanted out of each other,’ she told The Sun.

However, the Celebrity Ex on the Beach star said she was not looking for a new partner on the ITV show but would welcome an ‘innocent flirt.’

Ella added: ‘There could be trouble! There’s something wrong with a bit of innocent flirting! It’s not like I’m going to have sex in the house, let’s be honest. 

‘You’re in the room with like 12 other people. No way. But there’s nothing wrong with an innocent flirt, I don’t think.’

Meanwhile, Chris ended his most recent public relationship with professional golfer Annabel Dimmock in 2022.

He also previously dated ex-Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson for 16 months before they parted ways in April 2020, as well as Love Island co-star Olivia Attwood.

Last year, reality TV star David Potts, 31, won Celebrity Big Brother.
