Celebrity Race Across the World 2025 came to an emotional head in a nail-biting finale.

The star-studded version of the hit BBC reality series involved four celebrity couples – broadcaster Anita Rani and dad Bal, actor Dylan Llewellyn and mum Jackie, fiancées Molly Rainford and Tyler West and Roman Kemp and sister Harleymoon.

Tasked with trekking 5,900km from the idyllic Caribbean island of Isla Mujeres to the finish line at Península de La Guajira, armed with a modest budget, a map and a will to win, the race reached a climax tonight.

In the end, it was the brother-and-sister dream team, Roman and Harleymoon, who clinched the victory as they arrived sweaty and out of breath at the coastal endpoint after a scramble up the rock face.

Turning the page of the check-in book to see they had won, both of them were left shocked and delighted in the moment.

With just £200 left in their pockets, the singer-songwriter told the camera: ‘I’m so overwhelmed, I don’t know whether to be sick, to celebrate. Still in shock.’

The One Show host echoed: ‘That was the most adrenaline, the most emotion I’ve had, ever.’ The pair then shared a heartfelt hug as it all sank in.

Fans celebrated their win, with Donna Jones writing on X: ‘Yes! Deserved winners Roman & Harley.’ Another viewer Anna echoed: ‘Well done Roman and Harley. What an exciting finish!’.

Molly and Tyler trailed hot on their heels as runners-up.

Met with a stumbling block of a faulty boat engine at the last second, the pair took the loss gracefully and were proud of just how far they had come.

‘I think they’re a mixture of happy tears, just absolute shock and pride,’ Molly told Tyler as she got misty-eyed.

Tyler added: ‘The fact that we were here, 20m away and if it weren’t for a broken engine, we’d be first on that list, I’m not worried! That’s life innit.’

After the almost neck-and-neck first and second place, Anita and Bal arrived six hours later in third place.

Earlier in the episode, Dylan and Jackie made the decision to pull out after being left with an impossibly tight budget – but the lifetime worth of memories made the experience entirely worth it.

As Jackie said: ‘The race has made me realise I should have more faith in myself and to embrace life. I feel like a new woman and it’s taken me nearly 60 years to feel like this, but I’m a better person for the whole experience.’

The Derry Girls star added: ‘My mum has helped me grow, she’s got that best version of Dylan out of me, and hopefully I can continue to be a better Dylan. This journey has been amazing, it’s shown me that there’s a whole world out there and I’ll always keep this with me.’

Elsewhere in the episode, fans were also touched by Anita and Bal’s bonding as she shared how supportive her father has been through the tough times and the good.

Over the course of four episodes, the pairs have moved viewers to tears as they also embarked on an emotionally transformative journey.

In last week’s episode, Roman opened up about a mental health crisis he was supported through by his mum and his sister, who he powerfully credited with ‘saving his life’.

Meanwhile, Dylan and Jackie have been met with an outpouring of support from viewers after opening up about the death of Dylan’s brother, aged 20, by suicide.

In a later episode, Jackie also found solace in her son as she spoke about the sudden death of her first husband days before she gave birth.
